The site
LOCATION
The site is approximately 37 hectares in size and is located across three parcels of land south of Easton Lane, Glevering Park House.
Boundaries of the site are characterised generally by hedgerow and tree planting to its edges, with notable areas of woodland edge also evident to the sections of the eastern and western boundaries. With the exception of these woodland areas the site is surrounded by arable land to all aspects. The northern boundary of the site adjoins Easton Lane.
WHY THIS SITE?
The site is not located within or adjacent to any statutory landscape or ecological designations. The site is also fairly well screened from the surrounding area and from local residences.
The site is located within a short distance to a local electricity network connection point, just 250m to be precise, so electricity generated at source will not have to travel far to feed into the National Grid.
WHERE HAS THE SOLAR FARM NAME COME FROM?
The Ancona Solar Farm derives its name from the historic name of one of the fields where the site is located.
IS IT REQUIRED?
There is a legal obligation to decarbonise the UK economy to respond directly to the climate and ecological emergencies. This project will make a tangible contribution to the wider process of decarbonisation, which is good for the economy, vital for national security, and kind to planet Earth.
